Indications for Tonsillectomy
Chronic Tonsillitis: Recurrent infections of the tonsils that do not respond to antibiotics and lead to frequent sore throats.
Obstructive Sleep Apnea: Enlarged tonsils can block the airway during sleep, causing breathing difficulties.
Difficulty Swallowing: Significantly enlarged tonsils can make swallowing painful or difficult.
Persistent Bad Breath: Chronic tonsillitis or tonsil stones (small calcified particles) can cause persistent bad breath.
Tonsil Stones: Recurrent or large tonsil stones that lead to discomfort or infection.
